If you're reading this welcome, you either own or are interested in the 1961-1966 F-series Ford light trucks, affectionately named and now known world wide as a "Slick" or Slick 60. It can be stock, a street rod, a custom truck, or any combination there of, but it has to be a 61-66 and it has to have a Ford motor.
"Uncle Fenders", aka Lance Alderman in 1998 with about 15 original members, founded the Slick 60's Club. It has outgrown two different web sites during that time and, as a group, this club probably acknowledges as many affiliates as any other single marquee truck or car club in the world. Currently we have registered over 1,300 members in almost every civilized country in the world. We know it is one of the most visited Internet websites dedicated to automotive issues.
What makes our group unique is that we are un-chartered, collect no dues, have no set meetings, but yet operate by a set of ethics and rules that are embraced and enforced by every member. Some things we will tolerate, some we definitely will not tolerate.
Bad language, rude behavior, cheating a fellow member on parts, and brand X motors in a Ford truck won't be allowed. Period.
Disagreements may be discussed in a civil manner, and establishing a local "chapter", website participation, courtesy to fellow members on Ebay and other auction sites, and all manner of Slick get-togethers are encouraged. No one has all the answers, but in this group you are pretty much guaranteed to find a solution to your problem if you ask.
My only caution is, that if you become a member of this fraternity, you might become obsessive about it as many members find the need to have more than one Slick. You have been warned.
